Dr. Kate Diaz Vickery is a primary care physician at Hennepin County Health Care for the Homeless and a researcher at Hennepin Healthcare Research Institute in Minneapolis, MN. She is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine at the University of Minnesota Medical School.

Dr. Vickery’s research interests are to develop and test cross-sector approaches to address social and behavioral determinants of health for people with low income and unstable housing. 

She co-led a mixed methods study to evaluate the impact of Hennepin Health, a Minneapolis-based accountable care organization. Her work with Hennepin Health leaders will continue in P4A, building on a needs assessment to identify opportunities to improve care across sectors for low income families and children on Medicaid. Dr. Vickery also has a career development award from the National Institutes of Health to develop a cross-sector intervention to support medication adherence for people with type II diabetes experiencing homelessness.
